A synergy of development expertise

We are part of the Global Development group, which is 100% employee-owned. Urbaconsulting, founed in 2006, specialise in urban issues and municipal dvelopement. Kattan, launched in 2022, focuses on sustainable and inclusive access to energy. And Nexsom, created in 2022, is our subsidiary for Latin America. Our teams work closely together on a daily basis to address the challenges faced.

Following a degree in political science, Lise-Ella specialised in improving access to essential services in ‘developing’ countries, by joining the Masters in Urban Network Services Engineering (ISUR) at Sciences Po Rennes – ENS Rennes. Lise-Ella has been in charge of water, sanitation and waste studies since 2019. She has been involved in a number of socio-economic studies, developing tools and methodology, training teams and analysing the qualitative and quantitative data collected. She has acquired in-depth knowledge of participatory social engineering methods and is used to working with communities and informal sectors to develop access to essential services. Thanks to her knowledge of public policy, she also carries out institutional and organisational diagnostics for local institutions (ministries, towns, operators, etc.). Finally, Lise-Ella promotes an inclusive and resilient development approach in each of the projects she is involved in. Her projects have led her to specialise in the solid waste sector, where she has carried out waste characterisation studies (Caribbean and West Africa), supported the creation or extension of pre-collection services in urban areas (Central Africa) and capitalised on women’s practices in waste prevention, management and recovery (Maghreb).

Rachel Kelly NOUPA is not only a highly experienced sociologist, but also and above all a field practitioner, well-versed in the tools and methodologies of social engineering for urban development projects. Versatile and highly adaptable, she is involved in a wide range of fields, including urban development in relation to flood risk management, adaptation to climate change, access to WASH services, hygiene and health, faecal sludge management, waste management and wastewater management, etc. Rachel Kelly is responsible for the social aspects of many of the projects in which she is involved, and holds key positions in the implementation of IEC (Information-Education-Communication) activities for PADY 2 (Yaoundé 2nd phase sanitation project) and the Yaoundé Foul Sludge Management Sector Structuring Project. In addition, she coordinates the Urban and Social Project Management for the Project to Promote Local and Environmental Initiatives for Flood Management (PILEGI) in Bangui, by providing social support for labour-based works and helping to set up and manage a support fund for local environmental initiatives. A loyal collaborator, she worked for several years in the ERA Cameroun team, a long-standing partner of the Global Development group, before joining the Urbaconsulting team in 2022.
