Institutional and organizational audit of the water and sanitation sector in preparation for sector reform

The audit forms part of the water and sanitation sector governance program, one of the programs set up to implement the national water policy by 2030 in order to help Burkina Faso meet the Sustainable Development Goals.

Type of service provide :

The aim of the assignment is to assess current sector performance at all levels (urban, rural), and covering all stakeholders (public, private, NGO, training institutes, etc.), in order to highlight the sector’s strengths and limitations, and propose solutions:

  • Designing a preliminary and detailed assessment (or audit) based on a literature review, surveys and interviews with all the stakeholders involved;
  • Developing a detailed structural reform program for the water and sanitation sector based on the audit findings and recommendations, an international benchmark, and multi-stakeholder consultation workshops.
