Draw up a national governance program for the water and sanitation sector

A major institutional reform of the water and sanitation sector is underway in Mali. New national water and sanitation policies have been drawn up and are accompanied by national thematic programs: access to drinking water; IWRM; water, solid waste, wastewater and excreta, rainwater, and special waste facilities. These programs are supplemented by a joint national governance program to ensure the necessary institutional conditions are in place to properly implement the two policies and their associated programs.

  • Conducting an assessment of sector governance based on interviews, documentary analysis and participatory workshops;
  • Holding sector consultations to define the strategic priorities and jointly develop a two-part action plan (water and sanitation)
